BioBlitz in the Wilderness Park Friday, April 28 – Monday, May 1!

Please join the Friends of the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park Friday, April 28 through Monday, May 1 for a Wilderness Park BioBlitz in conjunction with the City Nature Challenge!

Please come out and make lots of observations in the Park! Last year during a single-day City Nature Challenge BioBlitz , iNatters made 197 observations in the Wilderness Park. We’ll have four days this year – and we’re hoping for many more observations!

We also hope that project members will help with identification (May 2–7). Let us know in the comments if you’d like to have a joint ID session either in person or by Zoom.

Lastly, we are looking for project members who can help staff our booths for the BioBlitz on:

1. Sunday, April 23, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
   Claremont’s Earth Day Celebration, First Street, Claremont Village
   Introduce visitors to iNaturalist and explain the BioBlitz

2. Saturday, April 29, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
   CNC BioBlitz, CHWP main entrance
   Answer questions and explain the BioBlitz and iNaturalist to Park visitors

If you can help on one of these days, please sign up with our Google Form.
Even if you can't volunteer at the booth, do stop by and say, "Hi!" and meet some of your fellow project members!

All the observations made in the Wilderness Park during the BioBlitz will be added both to this project and to the Los Angeles County 2023 City Nature Challenge.
