Neralu Whitefield is a tree census project in Whitefield area in Bengaluru. The word "Neralu" means "shade" in Kannada. The aim of this project is to create a sense of ownership and pride in our community for the thousands of trees that live here and form a rich habitat for the urban wildlife. These trees have nurtured us through decades and it is now our turn to return the favour. At a time when their existence is threatened by a rabble of man-made projects, many of which are sometimes disasters in disguise.
