Hello 2024
The 2023 Ohio Odonata data set is in place - at least for the moment! We will welcome past seasons data in 2024, but they won't be represented in the Ohio Odonata database until we do 2024 processing.
That said, here are some 2023 numbers. 38,539 observations for 2023, 135 species, all 88 Counties represented. 38,539 sets a new yearly high.
There were 133 new County Records, with Four-spotted Skimmer leading by a wide margin with 23 new Counties. We have 11 new early flight dates, 13 new late flight dates. We increased the flight period of Red Saddlebags by 10 days on the early side (TC in Clark Co). We extended Elusive Clubtail flight by an amazing 23 days (DT in Hamilton Co).
