May 6th, 2020 (Wednesday) 9 am – 11:30 am: no new dead newts, but the road was scraped very recently - it was very clean, and the sides of the roads were cleared of vegetation along most of the road. The dead newt I left on the road the week before was still around, but was scraped as well - https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/45241409.
The weather was a bit cool at first, got a bit warmer later.

Traffic: 1 truck, 23 cars, 1 motorcycle, 10 bikes, 9 pedestrians. (including some county parks and roads something pick ups)

@merav, do you think you would've found dead newts if the road hadn't been scraped & cleaned?
There are a lot of dead insects. I didn't realize there would be so many dead insects on the road.

I don't know. I just think I might have, as I found a couple ofnewts last week and the week before. A least some of the insects I found were fresh (still soft), so might have died after the road has been scraped. Who knows...
