I consider myself to be a biodiversity data scientist by day and hobby naturalist (also mostly by day, but sometimes night). I got into the natural world during my undergraduate days at Drexel University where I worked in the Entomology Department at the Academy of Natural Sciences. After graduating, I moved to Helsinki, Finland to work on spider conservation.

I'm currently wrapping up my Ph.D. in Biology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where my dissertation research focusing on using advanced models with unstructured data (like iNat!) to assess how cold-adapted butterfly communities and populations are responding to climate change.
