I saw a shadow over my head that I thought, "Butterfly? No, too big!" and then saw what I thought was a bird land in a tree near my car. While I was in the parking lot taking pictures of butterflies, this bat kept flying back and forth, landing in trees next to the parking lot. I took this with a telephoto lens, cropped, making an effort not to startle the bat. I have no idea if I did or not. The bat did fly away, but to the same tree where he/she had been perched before, and then a few minutes later, back to the other tree - and back and forth. This was still going on when I left to hike the trails.
It was around 4pm. I don't know if this is atypical behavior or what.

This leafhopper was caught from Florida rosemary in a sand pine scrub habitat. It was identified to Typhlocybinae by the metatarsal features and to Dikraneurini by the absence of an appendix and the presence of a hind wing sub marginal vein. The specialized ecology on Florida rosemary coupled with the matching color and pattern, including the blue spot on the basal segments of the abdomen, constitute profound evidence this is Alconeura bisagittata. This is a new species for BugGuide and probably a new record for Pasco county, given the lack of scrub habitats and especially since no record for Pasco county was described in the attached study.

It was laying eggs a few at a time and then going to another spot. I was hoping the pics were clearer (and that I would have more of them). Options with orange in the wings are limited, but they color and battery on the back are confusing me
