Found this unusual Mantis on a vine in a Tsingy. Has very small winglets so cannot fly. Jumps quite well. Interesting half moon sharps to it knee joints. Not recognised by the local guides.

Descripción
Giant tortoise reintroduction programme in NW Madagascar. Previously extinct in Madagascar, efforts are being made to reinsert them in their original environment. This observation is of a currently captive animal that feeds naturally but is provided with clean water and medical care, and has its territory limited. One day, hopefully, this project will result in a genuinely wild (re)population.

Found in complete darkness, in a room at the end of a 500 m cave gallery, with thousands of bats.
Dark skin with violet, blue and green reflects. The belly was of the same color, slightly paler, with some yellow under the head.
The head was so glossy/shiny that it was like if covered with oil.

Descripción
It was a great moment of my life to see this beautifull tree on site, with the discoverer. Those 30 remaining mature trees (15 m) are the only one existing. It is one of the rarest palm tree of the world. Some were flowering with a huge inflorescence of 6m.
We are reintroducing some in Anjajavy's reserve which is 30Km from this site.

The fossas where meowing during the mating while a dozen of parrots in an adjacent tree were squawking loudly like if they were answering to the vocalizations of the fossas.
The coitus was sometimes intersperse with violent blows of paws or jaws.
