Descripción

There are 2 snakes pictured- one is a striped San Diego Kingsnake, the other (banded) appears to be a desert Kingsnake, which is subject to debate it appears. Both were seen crossing a road together - they ended up under a shrub where I handgrabbed both simultaneously. They were not copulating when I grabbed them, but may have been prior to me picking them up. This is the 2nd obs of what appears to be an introduced desert kingsnake at Cabrillo National Monument.
