There was a wet seepage area on the east side of Quarry Lake which harbored a perched wetland with Eleocharis, etc. I found these orchids blooming in that wetland. I rather suspect this location has been wiped out by the subsequent development.
The development plan up for approval at the time by the City of Austin termed this the "C. A. Smith Tract", which is how my slides were labeled.

These ferns were growing at the discharge point for Tanglewood Spring. A new subdivision road (Rustic Rock Dr.) was being constructed immediately upstream from the headwater canyon for this spring, being placed much too close to protect the feature. Such aggressive subdivision design, including the treatment of this spring, were part of the inspiration for setbacks from "Critical Environmental Features" which were enacted in the 1986 Comprehensive Watershed Ordinance by the City of Austin.
The 35mm slides from my site visit to this location are stamped "NOV85"; the date is estimated +/- 1 week.
