Three plants on dry clay cut bank of public walking track. Seeds 4.5 mm long, cuspis <0.5mm, involucral hairs. Avi Holzapfel, revisor of this genus in Australia confirmed the species level identification. New record for Picton, unrecorded in the upper South Island since 1800s when Thomas Cheeseman collected it from Nelson (Fox Hill).
