Found stretched out, but stationary on trail within Tecolote Canyon (as seen in photo). Once I realized we were in a standstill with each other (both frozen from the presence of the other), I stomped my feet in place several times to encourage her/him to choose a direction of movement so I could continue my own movement down the trail. (S)he turned around, while rattling, and returned into the brush on the south side of the trail (the direction (s)he came from). Rattling sound stopped no more than 20 seconds, approximately 1 m away.
