not readily identified as C. fulgens on the basis of little if any visible bruising/staining and the occurrence on wood. later microscopically confirmed:

Q = 1 – 1.06 (1.1) ; N = 15

Me = 6.1 × 5.9 µm ; Qe = 1

Substrate: decomposing, friable, white-rotted wood

Habitat: not specified, but on private property containing buckthorn, hawthorn, larch, black locust, red pine, scotch pine, norway spruce, sugar maple and apple.

Ecoregion: Eastern Great Lakes lowland forest (NA0407)
