I counted each bumblebee + flower species pairs along Phalen Boulevard in and in the area of a native-planted / maintained by mowing storm pond. In the drought the bottom of the pond still has sunflowers and there are coneflowers blooming in the pond with other flowers dried up. This bumblebee was in the pond area at a business lawn area with trees that has always been allowed to grow high over the summer so has clovers (but not during drought), taller bird's foot trefoil bumblebees like, and alfalfa that this bumblebee was at.

The bumblebees were only at Spotted Knapweed growing and still blooming some around the edge. It could be this rusty-patched came from a native planted pond a few blocks east where they have been seen this week.

This is the 10th day in a row I have seen the same male Rusty Patched at blooming Hyssop in our native planted rain garden, based on its patch shape and color. Common Eastern, Red Belted and Half Black are also there, visiting blooming Nodding Wild Onion and Hyssop.

Surveyed for each flower + bumblebee combination and tooka picture and counted number of bumblebees in each configuration, and took pictures of any interesting bumblebees. Native planted shoreline, maintained and burned some years. Warm and sunny with a slight breeze toward the shore. There were a lot of flower + Bumblebee combinations.
