found dead in the gutter, no puncture wounds or otherwise. Presumably got hit by a car
I'm kind of astonished. This is the second possible grey duck sighting we've had in less than a week, with the first one sadly being a hybrid. This is certainly the most pure grey duck I've ever seen - they face is absolutely perfect, and I believe the feet were olive-grey, though it was tough to see, and sometimes looked a little orange at times. The only thing I am uncertain about is the speculum, which isn't showing perfectly. Is it a necessity for the speculum to be showing? Like last time, I'll be notifying a few people: @that_bug_guy - sorry to bother you again. @jason_graham @tripleaxel
There was quite a large flock of them but they were difficult to photograph because they were mostly very high up in the gums and pine trees near the creek.
Observation refers to two birds in foreground. Were part of mixed group of more than a dozen grebes doing a circuit of the northern lake.
