I made this observation from a pond sample collected at Mills Pond Recreation Area.
Found in a water sample taken from a stagnant "roosting pond" under a huge live oak tree. It rained some the night before this sample was taken.
There are two organisms in the pic but I’m wanting to ID the spiky oval. Pond sample from McKinney Falls.
From a class observation, obtained in collected pond water from Lady Bird Lake
I made this observation from a pond sample collected at Mills Pond Recreation Area.
This crescent shaped diatom was found in upper bull creek (just above the waterfall in an area of stagnant water). It moved smoothly through the water. Clear, sunny day at 72 degrees.
1000x oil immersion and 2.1x from the camera lens.
From the water sample that I got on 2/13. There were several of these in this water sample.
I’m 100% sure this is Spirogyra. Pond sample from McKinney Falls.
Taken from upper bull creek in an area of water that didn’t get much circulation. I don’t have a picture, but it was taken from clumps of thick, light green algae.
Clear, sunny day at 72 degrees.
Picture for class, obtained in lab observations from collected pond water.
