This find was by my 4 year old nephew, I was up visiting a few weeks ago and we did some bug hunting around the farm, now every time he finds something he has to capture it, take a photo and send it through.

Appears to be a hoverfly, based on morphology and behaviour, but unusual colour. It didn’t hang around long enough for me to get a closer look, but I managed to capture it in flight! Found on a tea tree flower along Eastern Avenue at USYD
Beautiful little flower scarab, found on melaleuca tree outside Madsen Building at USYD on Eastern Avenue.
Found on a shrub leaf in a garden bed. Leaf beetles' herbivory is exploited to control weeds. Lamprolina spp. has been suggested as a possible form of biocontrol for sweet pittosporum (Pittosporum undulatum), a native trans-continental invader plant in Australia.
