Caught and released
Found about 400 yards uphill from the river, under a tree. Thinking perhaps a bird (eagle or osprey) dropped it? Could’ve been a fisherman with an odd sense of humor.
we had some bullheads that seemed like yellow/brown hybrids. would love to see a study on the prevalence of bullhead hybridization on Minnesota lakes. last slide shows an obvious yellow next to a yellow that had mottling on the body and barbels. the brown bullheads from this lake had very dark barbels and the anal fin looked long on these "hybrids," so we called them yellow bullheads. anal fin ray count was 22.
