Observed during the forbs/wildflower tour at the Union Bay natural area. The common vetch is a small forb that is actually used as a nitrogen fixing plant. There are many scattered throughout UBNA near the trails, but is actually considered a weed rather than a flower.

Small green shrub growing densely amongst some type of dead tree. The leaves are very flat and round and grow opposite of each other on each branch of the plant. No evidence of flowers or berries and plant is about 6 feet tall at its peak. Grows upwards with layers of leaves every few inches
