On a shaded bluff along a trail in the Ventana Wilderness
Very lightly divided - perhaps a hybrid with the neighbouring P. munitum
Just went with the mostly likely species from the suggestions. I'm not familiar with this one at all other than the Wikipedia reference.
A nice surprise at this location. I wasn't able to find any others in the immediate area. Growing at front of scree slope next to road. Conspicuous due to chalky-green colour and narrow & compact frond outline. At front in last photo with Rocky Mountain Woodsia (most tall upright clumps) & Fragile Ferns (yellower and/or less upright).
