Found at Hawk Cliff Woods on September 24, 2022, at 11:32 am. It is in the early stages of fruiting shown by the yellow berries. To identify this species in the future look for silvery oblong leaves that alternate. The leaves edges may look wavy and the undersides will appear silver (see in picture 2). The species has white flowers with 4 petals, but after flowering it will produce many small (6-9mm) berries with long stems. These berries will appear silvery as well and go from yellow to red. They were introduced from China as an ornamental and grow in sunny areas, consistent with this individual that was growing in a sunny meadow.
