Very skittish at first, but then he dashed at the camera whenever I attempted to capture a view of the face. No luck with any face photos, but he was still very cool to see!
Found nearby P. proterva. I initially thought both species were somewhat similar in appearance and behavior, but after observing both, it seems P. proterva is a rather hyper species with a slightly leaner, less patterned body and more bronze. P. galathea is still hyper but sits still longer and more often, and it has a chunkier body with more white stripes and bands and is more gold. Also, P. proterva doesn't have the division between the white eyebrow, so it would have a unibrow! P. galathea has a pair of eyebrows instead.
Two individuals observed at the same time. In snags, of course.
