Was on a walk on thanks giving in the field. Came across this turtle on the path, in a small wooded area. At first I thought it was a common snapping turtle. But was confused as it had a rather more pointy snout.

In Canadian Museum of Nature. Collected by G. Wilkinson. Now extinct in Canada, last recorded in 1941 in Niagara Gorge.
Not 100% sure, looks like porcupine and would be the correct size as well. Please ID if it is something else!
