Saw two birds swimming with a snake-like head bobbing motion.
I think this small bird is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
hmmm..I want it to be a Eurasian Wigeon but can't convince myself.
I've had this identified as a domestic goose x Canada Goose hybrid by the lady who works at the BC Rare Bird Alert. She told me to enter it as "Domestic goose sp. (Domestic type) x Canada Goose (hybrid)" on eBird. The bird is distinctly larger and bulkier than the two Canada Geese that it is with.
Some time ago I saw what I believe to be a Chinese Goose that seemed to join a flock of Canada Geese, travelling with it for some time. I saw it several times over a period of years at Willband Creek Park. Perhaps this bird is the offspring.
