Pileus 6.5-9 cm broad, convex to plane with an obscure umbo, (5C-D6,5,4) on disc, more yellowish toward margin (4B5,4), appressed radially fibrillose, dry, with white veil at margin breaking from stipe wih maturity. Lamellae white, adnexed, brusing a bit to pale brown, with even edges. Stipe 6-7 cm long, 2-2.5 cm broad, tapered downward, dry, with peronate veil, pale brown on white ground, appressed fibrillose becoming subsquamulose. Flesh white throughout, unchanging with mild to pleasantly pungent odor and mild taste.
From afar they looked like pattie pan squash. Upon closer look they were flat-capped mushrooms
