This red and green lichen was found growing on an oak tree. This patch of lichen was very small, being mostly covered by my thumb. The outside ring of the lichen is a deeper shade of red than the inner portions, and the lichen grows flat against the tree. These traits make this a Christmas lichen (https://lichenportal.org/cnalh/taxa/index.php?taxauthid=1&taxon=52508&clid=1183).
Upland (Quercus-Carya-Pinus) Forest; Fallen deciduous tree, most likely Quercus sp.
