8 inch wide trench with horizontal claw marks on the side spaced roughly 1/2 inch apart. A dig after a gopher into a gopher burrow. Narrow throw mound not much wider than 10 or 11 inches going straight back Coyote style. We ruled out Coyote due to the intense dig, obviously a rapid dig after a pocket gopher with horizontal claw marks on both sides of the walls.
Moving down hill, down in the frame, with the hind foot registering on front tracks.
Lizard. T5 drag. Going towards the top of the frame.
Tracks. Only Tip of its toes register. One T5 drag visible left of the 2” mark.
Knife = 10 cm (4 in). Raccoon tracks also for scale. A swimming and walking trail of a single individual. Quite small. Tree frogs are abundant and active here now. Only other frog species we have documented here are African clawed frog and bullfrog. We have not documented toads at this location, despite year-round tracking here. @richard26 @herptracker
