Patch of recently dead and near dead kohekohe. Also seen in another remnant last year. Disease?
Seedling in leaf litter exposed after weed removal by hand.
Cluster of old Kohekohe just down the gully from an old fence line which I guess was the boundary of the old pikarere farm.
Abundant tree throughout reserve and often forming an almost pure canopy. Flowering heavily during visit - flowers frequented by tui (Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae novaeseelandiae).
Growing on shaded bluffs on steep alpine ridge. I don't know this genus well, but thought this looked like the best bet.
Am fairly sure is Convolvulus fractosaxosa but this doesn’t seem to be an option here. On rocky steep slope under kowhai in very dry shrubland / tussock land at Deep Creek
Suspect Madeira vine?
