Saw him perched inside my mountain laurel. I'm unfamiliar with this kind of bird although I know it is a bird of prey. Relatively small beak. Bigger than a kestrel but smaller than a redtail hawk.
Pink legs
this is a well camouflaged Texas spiny lizard sunning i the late afternoon on the western side of the trunk of the retama tree. I show the side view, which is the most visible aspect I could obtain. I also include an annotated photo, showing what the lizard looks like when seen from the west, the "top" view of it clinging to the tree. I so admire the camouflage.
