Found on ravine slope upland from Wilder Creek in redwood forest edge/mixed evergreen forest understory with surrounding bay laurel, live oak, tan oak sword fern; plant with basal leaves (rosette-like) alternate with hirsute petioles, main stem glaucous, cordate glabrous leaves with puberulent abaxial and adaxial sides and entire wavy margins, infl a compound raceme, stamens and perianth in 5's, hirsute pedicles and sepals, petals light blue/periwinkle with white bulbous 2 lobed appendages arranged in circle towards center, petals fused into tube at base (salverform), 5 stamens entirely fused to walls of tube, stamens hidden

Plant procumbent to decumbent; stems branching near roots; leaves bright green and glabrous/waxy, simple, leaf shape ovate to cordate, sessile, and 0.5-2 cm long; leaf arrangement whorled; solitary flowers with peach to pink (salmon) corolla; petals becoming purple near center, corolla < 2 cm in diameter; 5 petals, 5 sepals, 5 stamens.
This plant is found in the Younger Lagoon Restoration Area. This is an oddly late bloom. Other specimens nearby have begun turning red. The specimen is very sticky.

Very aromatic entire pinnate leaves with small pale yellow flowers. A woody tree more or less straight.
Herb with white flowers and yellow stamen, inflorescence a cyme. Found in shaded areas of redwood understory.
