Santa Gertrudis division of King Ranch
Due to its district red-wreath shape, I believe this is the Christmas Lichen also commonly known as the Christmas Wreath Lichen. The lichens on this particular tree were relatively small (about the size of a baseball at most), however, I did spot trees that were covered by large patches of this lichen although it was significantly harder to see the wreath shape on those. These lichens have a red/pink center that gradually fade out into a light grayish/green tint which is not very visible in the pictures, I’ve also noticed that these lichen have a rimming around them that is the same color as it’s center. Christmas lichens can be found in damp/swampy areas and these pictures were taken in Lettuce Lake Park right by the Hillsborough River. I also used this article as an additional guide to my identification. https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/artful-amoeba/the-christmas-wreath-lichen-in-the-corkscrew-swamp-wishes-you-a-happy-holiday/
