This fern was in the St. Edwards nature preserve and it was located beside a stream.
2.5-3 ft tall, pubescent square stem, along levee in annual floodplain.
Please help me here: do the orange-y elongated swellings (galls), in the center, have a specific ID name?

The yellow "starburst" galls are a species as of Aug 25, 2018 and to my knowledge to date not described.
Taxodiomyia, a genus of cypress gall midges, insects in the family Cecidomyiidae, has at least 3 described species, this suggested T. cupressi (Schweinitz, 1822), & 2 others: T. cupressiananassa (Osten Sacken, 1878), and T. taxodii (Felt, 1911) (cypress leaf gall midge); however, the above image resembles the one displayed at forestryimages.org/browse/detail.cfm?imgnum=5424528:
