Seems Siphonophorida is in California after all, I was waiting for the day!
This organism is classified as an deuterostome because it is made of true tissues and has bilateral symmetry, meaning the organism’s body practically mirrors its self along the sagittal plane. This organism can further be classified as an amphibian since it lives in both dry and wet environments. This organism is believed to be a toad due to its warty complexion. They range in size, but this toad in particular was about 3.5 inches long (about 5 in. with legs fully extended). Its coloration was unique and consisted of several browns, that acted as a camouflage, covering its entire body. It also had distinguished dark brown spots that were outlined by a thin lining of light brown coloration. These spots mirrored themselves along the toad's sagittal plane. This toad was spotted resting inside of a folded up umbrella on an apartment's porch on a rainy day in Gainesville. Since the umbrella was going to be used, I wanted to relocate the toad so it wouldn't get hurt. I slowly opened up the umbrella close to the ground so it could jump out safely. It immediately hopped onto the sidewalk and eventually made its way towards the woods behind the apartment building. Toads typically live in dry habitats but travel to ponds during breeding seasons.
