Diario de nanotyrannus

I'm seeing huge numbers of dragonflies in Central Texas, especially early in the morning. I mean huge numbers. I can't see them clearly enough to determine species, but they are quite large. I will see several hundred just casually flying over my driveway in the morning. I wonder what's going on?

I frequently enjoy urban hiking and go birding/herping in the remaining patches of undeveloped land here in Waco and the surrounding area. You'd be surprised at the biodiversity I encounter in such places. But it sickens me to see these areas being reduced in size every day. It seems that each month or so another patch of land is bulldozed and paved over.
