To day I went to see my father he's 83 years old. I visited with him about three hours and ran a couple of errands for him. I left his house around 12:00 pm as I was going home I went through a street called Metropolis a short cut I take to get to 183 South. Next to the VA building there is a huge pound I never though there was any inhabitant in the pound. as I was driving towards 183 I saw a turtle basking in the sun on the curb so I stop to move the turtle on to the grass so it would not get hit by passing vehicles on that road. I took the picture before I moved it on to the grass. it was a great day because I helped out one of natures amazing inhabitant..

on Saturday the 25th I step outside around 10:00 pm to observe the stars in the sky I notice there was not to much activate going on in my yard. I did not see the June bugs and the toad that usually hang around my yard at night. But I did observe a couple of spiders hanging around there was a dotted wolf spider on my door frame and a black jumping spider on my porch pole. I thought that was pretty interesting. it was a quiet night for a Saturday night.

I came out side this morning around 6:30 am to get a fresh breath of air as I was walking around my front yard looking at my rose bushes I heard a noise I look up at the rain gutter and there was a blue jay seating there. I walked inside my house and grab my phone. I was expecting the blue to fly off before I could get my phone to take a picture but surprisingly the blue jay was still there I took the picture and I observed it for a couple of more seconds before it flew away. its been a whal since I have seen a blue jay around my house I hope this summer I am able to observer many more different kinds of birds.

lately I have been invaded by June bugs in front of my porch of my house. I don't know what is attracting to my porch perhaps it could be the light; But I have all so observed that lately a woodhouse toad has emerged form no where he seats about two feet away just observing the June bugs. the toad will seat there for hours just observing the June bugs I have yet to seen the toad do anything but it interesting to observe nature at work.

For the last couple of week I have been invaded with June bugs in front porch of my house at night. there are so many sometime I have to use a very soft Asian broom to move them out of the way so I will not step on the. they are very interesting to observe. they fly around in circle around my front porch light and if you don't look out they will fly right into you.

On January 27, 2020, we went to Roy O Guerrero. the professor expanded how to approach and turn over objects to be safe from the wildlife that might be underneath the objects. it was a cool gray and wet day. we learned to use the seek app. in the field. we were able to identify cochineal nopal cactus, superorder eupulmonata shells, texas leaf cutter ants, little brown skink, American giant millipede complex, and an American water frog. in all, I learned so much on the field trip about insects and the environment that certain spices live in..

on January 28, 2020, the night before it had rained in the morning I step outside on my back patio and observed a snail just trucking along with the patio. I found it so interesting because I had never seen a snail just crawling along the ground I had seen many empty snail shells around my house. it was amazing to see the snail out of its shell. I also observed a roach crawling on the patio as well. it was funny to observe the roach because it was following me as I was trying to take a picture of it. it was very hard tying to take the picture.

On February 2, 2020, I came out of my front door and observed several bees I think they were western honey bees. they were just flying around pollinating some wildflowers. I had a tuff time taking their pictures.
