I am an ethnobotanist with a passion for Indigenous Foods of the Pacific Northwest and broad interests in natural history. I have been studying the region's flora since 1990 and am always learning new plants and still make a lot of mistakes. Thanks to those that correct me! My approach to posting is that it is better to guess to species than have an observation sit indefinitely at a broader level of identification (few people search iNat for families or genera). I teach field courses at Western Washington University and enthusiastically participate in Washington Native Plant Society functions.
