My primary area of interest is the ecology, taxonomy, and biology of freshwater fishes from Africa and eastern North America. I have a particular bias for small, elongate, benthic, and brown or otherwise drably colored fishes.

I also have a passing interest in marine biology, entomology, ornithology, and freshwater wetland botany, but my knowledge of everything other than freshwater ichthyology is rather cursory. Please keep that in mind and be patient with me if I misidentify something outside that scope.
