I graduated in 2021 with a Ph.D. in Integrative Biology from the University of South Florida in Tampa. I received my B.S. in Marine Science from Eckerd College in 2011. Currently, I am an adjunct instructor at the University of South Florida, teaching Bio II and General Physiology labs
Over the years, I have lived and worked in a number of places. I grew up in Charlottesville, VA. In addition, I have lived in Eijsden in the Netherlands, St. Petersburg FL, Burlington VT, San Diego CA, and Tucson AZ, before moving back to Tampa Bay FL for school.
I have worked (volunteer and/or professionally) in several zoos and aquariums: ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in Burlington, Birch Aquarium in San Diego, Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson.
Outside of my school work, my hobbies include gardening (I have a vegetable garden and a small flock of chickens) and martial arts (currently Aikido).
