Currently 22 years old, botany technician in Gogebic County, Michigan. I've had a longtime interest in birds and a casual interest in other forms of life. In the last few years I've greatly increased my knowledge and competency with butterflies, odonates, and plants especially and have become familiar with most Michigan species. In 2018 I undertook a botanical big year in Michigan, attempting to see how many plant species I could find in the wild, in Michigan, in a single year. The end result was over 1800 species, with a total likely to increase as more species are identified and old observations get added. Following this, one of my major long-term goals is to see and photograph 75 percent of the native vascular plant taxa in the United States and Canada (currently at 4-6 percent).
