I'm a wildlife geneticist with the U.S. Geological Survey in San Diego CA. Growing up in Ventura County CA, I've been interested in organismal biology since I was a kid, particularly herpetology, and with age I've gotten more into birding and learning about all the amazing plants here in southern California. The USGS hired me as a geneticist back in 2008, but I've always preferred being in the field over sitting at a lab bench or staring at a computer. My current research projects are in the southwestern United States, northern Baja California, and on Pacific Islands west of Hawaii.
