I enjoy nature, as I have most of my life. I live in the far north east corner of Texas, just outside the city limits of Texarkana, in Bowie County. My family's property has both hardwoods and pines, and it is bordered on one side by a deep creek bed that dries out during dry spells. The soil is largely red clay. Just north of my family's home lies the Red River. I'm always out walking through the woods. I still find myself amazed when I see something I've never seen before, whether bugs, spiders, birds, amphibians, fish, fungi, lichens or plant life. It's amazing to realize there are still so many things to see that I haven't already noticed. Taking pictures of some of the more unique of these is one of my pasttimes.
