I work in forest conservation, but mostly high-level stuff (policy analysis, etc.) so my forays into naturalism and species identification are definitely that of an enthusiastic amateur. That's probably obvious ;) I live in the DC area, but spend a lot of time in West Virginia and make occasional trips elsewhere, probably most often to Scotland.
