I am a geologist by training, with an academic specialization in invertebrate paleontology. My master's thesis research was on Permian ammonoids (Cephalopoda) of west Texas (Culberson County). As a result, I have a strong background in evolutionary studies and taxonomy. I have always been fascinated with the natural sciences, especially paleontology, biology, and ecology. I have also always been passionate about the outdoors. Although I have been interested in biology for most of my life, only in the last few years did I begin to study it more thoroughly. My interests began with plants of the Trans-Pecos, but have since broadened. Discovering iNaturalist has enabled my studies in a new way.
