Passionate about sustainability, supporting native plants, animals, and insects, I am actively working on developing a garden and a woods with only native Pacific NW plants. One reason that I have joined is to learn more about what is growing around me and what needs to be replaced. I grew up in a different region of the country, and I am gradually learning about natives to the Pacific NW. Of course, most commercial nurseries DO NOT specialize in native plants. It takes knowledge to navigate the process, since it is easy to purchase plants that grow well here but that do not support native pollinators, birds, and plants.
