My formal study has been in geology. That has been accompanied by a fascination in Australian plants. Currently, I live close to Royal National Park in Sydney. With frequent excursions into the park, I am beginning to appreciate the different flowering seasons of the plants. Recently, I have begun to discover the amazing array of ferns in this part of the world, especially below the escarpments of the Illawarra.
