I am a “do-it-yourselfer” naturalist and for years I relied on the usual books to help me ID the flora and fauna I saw on my forays into the wilderness of my backyard (and elsewhere) with only a modicum of success but that was mostly an effort in futility. Then I found iNaturalist and my life changed dramatically. Thank you to all of you out there who take the time to comment on my observations.
