After completing a BSc. in Fisheries, I worked as a marine taxonomist for about seven years, specializing in plankton (both zoo and phyto). I then moved my career towards GIS. I completed a graduate degree in GIS and am now working on my second. It's a lot of computer work, so I am using iNaturalist to keep my taxonomy skills fresh and keep me connected to the natural world around me. I live on Kulwulton, so I've started a Kulwulton Urban Corridor project. I have a lot of birding friends, but my constitution didn't like to get up that early, so I have a sweet moth light that I like to set up once and a while. I'm certainly a novice when it comes to non-planktonic taxa, but I'm learning.
