I am interested in complex, biodiverse ecosystems and their resilient functioning, as well as in ecological and evolutionary processes and their long-term conservation and restoration on a large scale.

I am also interested in how renewable natural resources can be used sustainably and carefully in the long term or how ecological processes and ecosystem services can be used for economic interests to benefit from existing biological communities and have a minimal negative impact on local biodiversity and ecosystem functions.

I am currently working in the east of the Central African Republic in an area drained by the Chinko River, one of the most pristine tropical savannah rivers on earth.
