I'm interested primarily in lichen of the Pacific Northwest, but also in all other forms of life in the area. I'm always learning and am more than likely to make mistakes-- please let me know if I do! My favorite observations are the ones I learn something from.

For photos I use, in order of frequency:

  • My phone (sometimes through my 10x hand lens)
  • Bausch & Lomb Stereo Zoom 7 (dissecting microscope)
  • Olympus CH2 (light microscope)

I frequently refer to, in order of frequency:

  • McCune and Geiser's Macrolichens of the Pacific Northwest
  • McCune's Microlichens of the Pacific Northwest
  • Brodo's Lichens of North America

Also incredibly handy for Usnea in the area is Daphne Stone's Aide Memoire: https://northwest-lichenologists.wildapricot.org/page-1854985
