Specimens in the southern cape region, particularly in water saturated quarts sands along forest margins, have leaf undersides with matted pubescent hairs covering the entire underside
Specimens of the same species in the Baylands of the Cape and Hangklip Peninsula's lack this feature
The former specimens are examples of morphotypes
