Zhang et al. 2022 described this species as new, naming it B. albezens Grishin, 2022 to have a similar pronunciation, after determining that albescens is a different taxon, a Mexican subspecies of B. communis. The new name albezens has been adopted in Pelham's catalog and MPG.
