This regional split simply aims to shift identifications towards the intended concept subgenus Psoralea where previously only genus Psoralea existed for true Psoralea (s.s.) - before the introduction of two new subgenera under genus Psoralea: subgenus Psoralea (old genus Psoralea) and subgenus Otholobium (old genus Otholobium).
